Stampin' Up! Carols of Christmas Embossing Paste Card

With the Carols of Christmas Bundle, I enjoy making snow with the Embossing Paste and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It was so quick to spread the snow for the bottom and pounce the snow onto the tree branches.  It is surprisingly easy. White Craft Ink and IIEP made the stamped and embossed stars.  The Dapper Denim and Tranquil Tide are so soft and pretty as a backdrop, and the Crumb Cake deer looks peaceful too. I recommend a Post It Note to hold the die as you cut the pretty edge decoration.

Inky Friends Suite Designs Blog Hop

The Inky Friends Suite Designs Blog Hop focuses on some of the wonderful Suites in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  Join us as we display our personal favorites!  Should you get lost, you can find the list of participants with links on the Inky Friends Blog.

You've likely arrived from Tanya's Tinkerin' in Ink blog with those fanciful and fun designs using the Pick A Pattern Suite.

I'm using the Petal Garden Suite. I hope I am able to show you the great versatility of the Graceful Garden set, and I love the colors and the lovely roses in this designer series paper. The Garden Trellis textured embossing folder is fantastic too.

On Monday July 3, I posted a card on my blog using the Sheet Music background with the long stemmed rose as the vibrant and beautiful main image, so I chose to highlight other aspects of this set for the hop. Click back later if you are interested.

First, I made this card using the sponged retiform technique. I sponged all the edges rather than just one though.  It makes a bit of a quilt look for the card background. The Graceful Garden set is perfect because it has several different stamps that can be used in a variety of ways.  The sentiment is from the Label Me Pretty set, and I think it coordinates nicely.

Next, I cut strips of the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper in several different color groups and created a background. I then embossed the background sheet using the Garden Trellis embossing folder.

I cut dozens of strips because my customers made this card at my last stamp class and club, and I wanted them to have plenty of choices. Using the new Acetate Card Boxes in the Holiday Catalog, I made four cards into a batch of note-cards with envelopes to give to my mom for her birthday.  I think they'll be handy for any card sending situation, but I also made this sympathy card using just the designer series paper, card base and sentiment. I think sympathy cards should be simple, and this one is beautiful too because of this fantastic patterned paper.

I also wanted to show the other focused paper in the pack with Clear Wink of Stella on the coral roses, but it isn't very obvious. It is nice in person though and would make a sweet scrapbook page element.

Now, it is time to hop on to Twila's Stamp A Little Longer blog where she will show us some Fantastic Foil Frenzy Suite creations!
